Arbeitsgegenstand (Object of Labor) is a piece of square timber from the hardware store that is suitable for various types of construction. It is often used to build the framework for drywall and other temporary exhibition architecture, and it is also used in sculptural works. The exhibition piece is a random product of industrial manufacturing: during the cutting process, a knot in the wood was cut exactly in the middle. The knot was removed and replaced with a bronze casting.
